My CrossFit journey began 4 years ago at the tender age of 44. I was given a gift certificate to an on-ramp class and have never looked back. It’s daunting to try something new and difficult when you are older, but I firmly believe that age is just a number. You can achieve just about anything if you are committed and I am committed to CrossFit Outcome and our amazing community.
Prior to CrossFit, I was an avid runner and triathlete, with a little Yoga to round out my weekly routine. I currently workout 4-5 days per week. As an older athlete, I find that taking extra time for mobility before and after the WOD makes a big difference in my ability to recover. Some weeks I need more days off, so I pay attention to what my body is telling me.
For me, each day is a new day to become a better version of me! CrossFit is about improving, not just going through the motions at the gym. I did that for years and saw what it got me. I set lots of goals and accomplish as many as I can. I may be a coach but first and foremost, I am coachable. learn every single day that I’m at the gym.
I am a classically trained chef with a degree from the Seattle Culinary Academy, so food is a big part of my life. Putting food and CrossFit together is a dream come true for me. Best part of my aside from my family time is putting on a little hip hop, making it loud, loading up the bar, chalking up the hands and… 3, 2, 1, GO!
